Party Of Five, One Week Later

We have now been a family of five for one week. Everyone is adjusting well. Nathan is an adoring big brother who spends quite a lot of time holding his new baby sister. He is very protective of her and actually already carried her up the stairs on Tuesday night. My fault. She was fussing a little bit and I took a little too long changing so he was bringing her to me to make her happy. Hannah is not as interested in Miss Sarah at this point, but she sends her love in the form of kisses and a few pokes now and then. Hannah is not a fan of Sarah's umbilical cord. She has commented every time she sees it, "I don't like Sawah's belly butt". (We still have not been able to get her to say button).

Along with Sarah came some much colder weather than we have experienced since living here. We are expecting subzero temperatures this weekend and more snow. Nathan and Hannah are disappointed that the snow came with such cold weather because they want to get out and play.

Our 3rd class citizen dog, Max, has had the hardest time adjusting to the new baby. He has been especially whiny and neurotic since Sarah came home. He is especially having a hard time with the cold weather which doesn't agree with his arthritis issues. He'll be moving to San Antonio to the very loving home of our niece and nephew soon enough and will not have to worry about the cold or being a 3rd class citizen any longer. That will be a very hard goodbye for all of us, but we refuse to put him through the trauma of our move. It would surely put him over the edge.

Daddy goes back to work next week and we expect his new job to become more finalized with all of the little details to be filled in. We pray each night that we are able to take each day as it comes and in thanksgiving for another great day and "all its many blessings" as my mom's prayer goes.
