On The Brink

Life has gotten just a little bit nuts around here, but we are hanging in there. The final approval on our move came this week and along with that came more paperwork than we ever imagined! We have a calendar full of appointments for every family member and our to do list keeps growing even while crossing things off!

We all have cabin fever since winter arrived with our new baby sister. Our wonderful Daddy just took Nathan and Hannah to Jungle Java to run and scream and play with friends to alleviate some of the boredom that comes with being stuck in the house all week. It has warmed up to the 2os so at least that is an improvement.

Sarah was 2 weeks old yesterday. She had her check up and was 7 lbs 13 oz and 20 in long. She is eating and growing well. She is a very sweet and happy baby. She already enjoys spending the mornings gazing at her crazy older brother and sister as they fight over who will sit next to her. She is such a doll. She had an ultrasound on her spine on Wednesday just as a precaution because of a small birthmark over her spine. The nurse practitioner called with the results yesterday and thankfully they saw nothing wrong with her spine. They did notice some fluid on her kidneys, which they also noticed during our first ultrasound when she was 20 weeks. We are going to have to take her in for another one, again as a precaution. We are hopeful that it resolves and she won't need any further tests or treatment. We won't know anything about this for several weeks, but we were told that this is not something we should be terribly worried about. This is something we want to take care of before we move so we might have to make some adjustments to our travel plans.

Right now we are waiting for a lot of paperwork to go through so that Daddy can go start his new job. When he leaves, we plan to have our things all packed and shipped so that by the time the kids and I go over, our things will have arrived and hopefully we'll have a place to live. We are planning to go and stay with Nana & Papa for several weeks until all of that is settled. They even agreed to let us stay there, so we are thinking of having them sign something before they come to their senses! They will be visiting us this week and we are very excited to have them here. We also have Memaw and Yehyeh coming to visit at the end of this month. Daddy has several trips to make in between. Did I mention how nuts our lives have gotten? Thankfully, the kids don't seem to notice and are doing great. Mommy and Daddy are still sane. What more can we ask?
