Our Valentine's Day was anything, but romantic. Mommy and Daddy were both home most of the day, but we took turns going to the doctor and dentist and staying home with the kids. We woke up to several inches of snow that morning, but it was still entirely too cold to spend much time outside. Schools were all closed and that included Nathan's preschool. Thankfully, his teachers had foreseen the possibility of school being canceled and let the kids know their Valentine's Day party would be today if that was the case.
Instead of lavishing each other with expensive, romantic gifts, we had the joy of lavishing our home with a very large, expensive new window and cleaning the carpets so that our home is more attractive for buyers (hopefully).
We also spent the day talking with realtors and other people giving us the news we already know, we are selling in a very, very bad market.
Clearly, no romance in our house on Wednesday.
However, everyone in the house is falling more and more in love with Baby Sarah. She is 3 weeks old today and her due date was the day before Valentine's Day. We are so thankful she decided to come early and give us so much extra time to take care of our huge To Do List. She was already thoughtful, even before she was born.
Nathan and Hannah are thrilled to have Nana and Papa visiting. They arrived yesterday and Papa is out shopping for long underwear today. Unfortunately, both times they have visited, the weather has been as Michigan as it gets. No mild temperatures now. And that snow blower that has been so lonely, it got to come out and be useful this week.
As for Valentine's Day, we'll take a rain check (um, "snow check").
