House Calls

We have heard rumor that some doctors here in Belgium still make house calls. The English speaking pediatrician we have visited does not, but he does see patients in his home. I believe that most (if not all) doctors and dentists see patients out of their homes here. Other people have businesses in their homes as well. Three houses down from us is a lovely woman who does manicures and pedicures from her home. I have been wondering if our baby monitor would work that far away so that once Nathan is in school and the girls are down for a nap at exactly the same time...yeah right. A girl can dream can't she?

We found another wonderful person who makes house calls soon after arriving. Mr. Stephane. He is an English speaking International Hairdresser (according to his card--which only reads Stephane, no last name--we added the Mr.). His prices are very reasonable (by European standards, of course) and he comes right to your house to cut your hair. How convenient is that? He has cut all of our hair now (well, except for Sarah's). We had to let Hannah see everyone else get a haircut before we put her in the chair, but she had her first one (only her second haircut in her life) this week. She did great and made Mr. Stephane's day when she called out , "Bye, Mr. Fawn!" as he was leaving.

Here are some pictures of the latest haircut extravaganza in our house on Tuesday evening. Mr. Stephane cut 3 heads of hair in about an hour and a half. He even stopped to turn Sarah over when she got stuck on her tummy a few times. We don't have any after pictures, but the hairstyles are all just as fabulous as the people wearing them.
