Saturday we held TMNT training camp for eight 4 to 5 year old boys in our home. Thanks to Master Splinter (AKA Daddy) leading the camp on his 30th birthday, the birthday party was "totally"a success. It was our first "drop-off" party as is customary here and the kids did great. It was a little bit challenging being the only 2 adults with 8 little boys and our 2 girls. The challenging part was getting good pictures and videos while keeping the boys entertained and keeping the little sisters happy. All of our creative ideas came from a website. Thank goodness people actually take the time to put their detailed birthday party ideas on the Internet. The cupcakes turned out yummy despite the whack Euro-oven and the imported decorations were perfect. (Thanks Nana!)
Our own little Donatello (AKA Nathan) was thrilled with his party and his gifts. He had a great time. By party's end, we were all exhausted and ready for bed. We celebrated Daddy's 30th a day later with our first baby-sitter since Sarah and enjoyed a nice run in the forest--alone! We visited a little chateau with an incredible garden and then had a quick bite to eat at a restaurant just around the corner from our house. It was very nice. The report we got when we got home was that our children were very well behaved and polite. Sarah cried a bit, but fell asleep. According to Nathan, "Sarah cried the whole time and slept for about 1 minute".
Tomorrow is the first day of kindergarten. Nathan had a play date with several kids from his class today and they had a great time playing all afternoon. He fell asleep easily and doesn't seem at all anxious about school tomorrow. He's ready. Mommy's not sure yet.
We are all a bit sad as we learned that our sweet little Max is having trouble with his hip and could need surgery. We have said special prayers for him each night.
We are also saying special prayers for Aunt Jacy and our new baby cousin/nephew. All of our family celebrating birthdays are in our thoughts. This is the first year we haven't had some sort of celebration for Nathan's birthday in Texas and we miss that. We miss you and love you all.
For now, this kindergarten mom better get some sleep.

The thought of entertaining 7 young boys (forget about the two little sisters) scares me. Where do you find the time to write the lovely memories & take care of 3 wonderful children? I tip my hat to the “modern super woman”.
That picture of Sarah makes me smile! In fact, I'm feeling down today so I came here to look at it again. It makes my heart happy.
