Hannah has been "nursing" her little ones today. She had a line of them sitting on the floor next to her and she was picking them up one at a time and putting them up to her tummy to "give them her milk". Interesting that she had Pretty Bear, Woodstock and a tiny plastic princess in line today and that she was sitting in her doll stroller while she nursed them.
Nathan used to do this when he was Hannah's age. He "nursed" Woody, a penguin and Homer Simpson on a regular basis. He was a lot faster than Hannah is now. He put them under his shirt for about 1 second, pounded on their backs (for burping) and put them down "to sleep". I thought it was sweet and very fitting for him. He wasn't as into babies as Hannah is now. He didn't pay much attention to Hannah as a baby and would run by and poke her once in a while, but for the most part just left her alone.
Hannah is very concerned with Sarah all of the time. She doesn't want to hear her cry and she is always touching, hugging, loving and "checking on" Sarah--sometimes much to Sarah's dismay. Nathan was very interested in Sarah when she first came home and still loves to hold her once in a while, but he can tolerate her crying a lot more now than he could when she was brand new. For instance, I have seen him turn up the TV to solve her crying instead of going to see if he could make her feel better. He is still an amazing older brother. He has such a genuine concern for his sisters and their well being, but Hannah really does exhibit more of a mothering instinct on a daily basis. She is always running around tending to her babies. Hope she doesn't burn herself out so young! Awww, I love these guys!
