And Then There Was One

It was very strange driving home from school this morning with just one little person in the car. Very quiet. Too quiet. Although it was difficult for Hannah to get up this morning (still recovering from jet lag) she woke up excited about her first day in Holly class. Big brother had lots of great advice and was incredibly supportive. He was almost more excited than she was. I think Hannah was a little unsure of what to expect. We've been talking about her going to school for months and it is finally here. It was hard to leave her even though she seemed perfectly happy to go. She was a little bit clingy, but she already knows some of the other children and she knows her teacher from when Nathan had her last year. Sarah and I have had a quiet morning at home...we should be cleaning and putting things away, but we decided to play and blog instead. Now we are ready to go and see how Hannah's first day went. Come on 11:45!

We are all still having trouble sleeping at night. Nathan has done the best. Hannah and Sarah both seem fine to go down around 8 PM, but they are both up periodically through the night. Hannah asking for water and to go downstairs "to rest" and Sarah to practice clapping. That is her current passion...as soon as she wakes up from a nap or from sleep, she starts clapping. She also babbles and talks to herself very loudly making it very difficult for anyone else to sleep.

We got 5 of our bags yesterday and should have the remaining 3 and one of the car seats today. American Airlines, we are not impressed. We have gotten absolutely zero sympathy for not having our luggage these few days. The AA rep we spoke to on Saturday said that because we are home we should have everything we need. If we were traveling, we could be compensated, but because we are home, we probably need to buy everything anyway. Do you seriously come back from vacation and buy all new shampoo, toothpaste, hairbrushes, etc? Well, we don't. I feel bad for that woman getting the brunt of our exhaustion and frustration. It was misplaced for sure, but we did have some exasperating experiences during our travels!

Here is our big girl all ready for her first day of Pre K. Though it wasn't up yet, the sun in shining brightly today and hopefully Hannah is having a great day. One more hour!
