How She Rolls

Sarah Having Fun 15 Months from tsechief on Vimeo.

Sarah has just turned 15 months old. Both her brother and sister were walking by her age, but no need to worry. She has been as patient as possible with this family and now when we bring her inside and rush off to the next task, she promptly puts her feet rather than her bum on the ground. She stands on her own and immediately forms a death grip on our fingers. Then we hear, "Uh! Uh! Uh!" (Which basically means "I want ______!") She wants to walk and she is practicing every chance she gets.
I spend a lot of time with two tiny fists gripped tightly around my fingers as she walks along smiling, looking around to make sure everyone appreciates her new trick.

She can say other words besides "Uh!", but that is her favorite word. It is also the most effective because when one has two older siblings all one has to do is point and grunt and the older siblings fight over who gets to help first. Also when one is the 3rd child, one's parents know that one will eventually learn to say please and thank you so why start the repetition now? For the record, one of her words is "Thank you". Another one I think is "Voila!" which she has heard very, very often. Her other words are "Daddy" and "Hi".

She is also sleeping all night in her own bed. There I finally put in the blog so I fully expect the spell to be broken. I had completely forgotten what it is like to sleep without getting up several times during the night. Weird.

She is a pretty good eater and she has indulged in far too many treats for such a young one. That is where that word "Uh!" comes in handy again. Parents and siblings can only listen to so much of that word before giving in. That is why our car looks like a crumb factory. Well, that along with the other two crumb droppers.

At her last check up she weighed 10.1 kg and was 75.5 cm. (22.2 lbs and 29.7 in). She has grown a lot in the last few months.

She loves shoes and putting little surprises into our shoes. She still loves her little corner in the kitchen. She loves to give kisses to her family and she was even giving Mommy zerberts the other night. We are working on teaching her to climb the stairs, but she is very cautious. She will go up, but when we tried to work on going back down backwards, she looked at us like we were crazy. She only will go up with someone behind her encouraging her and she prefers that person to be Mommy or Daddy. Big brother tried to help her up the other day and she decided about halfway up that he was not an acceptable chaperon.

She loves being outside. She's not crazy about the trampoline, but wants to be with the big kids. She loves to ride her bike just like the big kids. She is not crazy about swings, but wants to climb up the slide. She loves people and will go with just about anyone. Not a lot of separation anxiety from this girl.

Nap time. More later.

The video was precious. Her turning around and looking like, 'ohmygosh, the stairs are right there/here!' And Hannah was a wonderful addition, :) Two cute little girls.

Several things come to mind when watching the video.

1) How can Sarah have more hair at 15 months than Camryn at almost 4?!

2) Hannah & her naked self...FUNNY!

3) The crab crawl!!! LOVE it!!

4) Most important: You & your smiling face in the beginning. Beautiful!! Your happiness at that moment is radiating thru my computer screen.

Thanks for sending love.
