HOME

Here are some pictures of the house and what we've been up to around here.  Sarah started riding the smaller bike Hannah hadn't been quite ready to give up the last time we saw our bikes and Hannah has moved on to the bigger bike.  They are loving our mostly quiet street and riding every evening.  There's a little glimpse of the 5 week ballet (actually an intro to dance) class that Sarah is taking twice a week.  She LOVES that it is all her own and that big brother and big sister have to tag along to something of hers for a change.  She's one of the older kids (the age range is 2 1/2 to 3 1/2) and I think the teacher is a little overwhelmed since they actually combined two classes.  I know she is thankful that it is only a 30 minute class.  They have completed The Bumblebee Song and are now working on a Wiggle's number for the "recital" at the end of class...the one we're going to miss because we're going to Texas and grandparents and Max trump ballet class.
The house pictures show a work in progress, of course.  There are still pictures to be hung and a few more boxes to unpack and organize in the office.  Our Slip and Slide apparently killed our wimpy grass (I remember the grass being wimpy from our last time here--nothing like the controlled weeds we called grass in Plano--it did NOT die!), but Daddy has been hard at work on the landscaping this week, so never fear...
There are several pictures of the basement which is pretty much a daily mess of toys, but at least the toys are in the basement for the most part--yippee!  The girls' bathroom is still in need of a shower rod and the guest room (down in the basement) is in need of lots.  Hannah's room is the "Smurfy" blue one...already came that way and she is happy with that color so we're going with it.  The Longhorn fan has his own Longhorn room with attached bath...probably more suitable for a teen aged girl, but we'll sort that out some day, I'm sure.  Sarah's room is the lighter blue--another paint job we're going with for now.  We're not ready to take on any painting at this point...we've got our hands full with plenty of other projects.
We've got overnight guests tonight (a source of contention for our middle child, who wants so badly to be part of the sleep over...but isn't) and tomorrow night a sitter for our first dinner date in way too long.  Our weekend looks pretty quiet.  More housework, more yard work, more grilling out, more staying up too late, more summer.
Wishing my little brother a Happy 3-0 B-day today and ready to celebrate 10 years tomorrow.  So hard to believe it has been 10 years already.  In another 10 we'll have 3 teenagers...oh.my...and we just think we've got our hands full now.  Let's just focus on today...so good to be home.
