Five days in Texas. It went by too fast.
Love cousin time. Some of my favorite memories as a child are with my cousins.
How can you not love that face? How can you not love his cowboy boots without socks? How can you not love that he kicked his Papa (aka Pops) to demonstrate what cowboys do with their boots? Love me some Cooper time.
Pure joy running around at the airport waiting for the shuttle to our hotel. No sweater or jacket necessary.
Posing for Daddy while the little one had to make an emergency pit stop.
Only our second visit with Caroline. Unfortunately she brought back a yucky souvenir from her previous trip to Arizona so she wasn't feeling very well, but we are so glad she shared her mommy with us a little bit.
Pretty sure when Nana chose the dining establishment, she had no idea of their birthday girl protocol. She was a good sport and danced like a chicken while we sang.
Note the deer mounted on the wall above Nana's head. At one point Nathan and Bade mentioned they thought the deer was moving. I was sure it was their eyes playing tricks on them, but nope. The deer put on an entire lip sync performance. Freaked some of us out. Especially considering the place was BYOB and we FOOB (forgot our own beer).
Reunited as four year olds.
Love this one of Bade. He'll be celebrating his 7th birthday in just a few weeks. How did that happen? Weren't we just at his 1st?
The indoor water park was a lot of fun, but our kids just couldn't resist being outside in the sun after so many months of NOT.
More cousin love.
After our time at Great Wolf flew by, we drove to Nana and Papa's house for one more night. Because our Daddy is just awesome like that, he stopped to pick up some water balloons while buying some medication for Sarah who also ended up with a nasty souvenir in the form of her worst cold this winter (go figure). The medication helped and she was out enjoying the fun with the rest of the kids in Nana and Papa's backyard. We are so, so thankful to Uncle Jay and Aunt Jacy for spending that extra day with us and driving back home so late. The things you do for us defective Texans.
We had such a great time in spite of Sarah's nasty cold and accompanying rash. We've all recovered now a week later. They all jumped right back into school and Daddy back into traveling. Saturday we all spent most of the day outside freezing. Put up the new basketball hoop, revived the trampoline from its winter tarp and did some serious garage organization. Yesterday was almost hot. Daddy left for Orlando early Sunday morning and his yesterday was more than almost hot. His today was hot too. I had to rush around yesterday evening reversing all of the ceiling fans and turning them on, trying to keep it cool upstairs. Way too windy to open windows last night. Tonight I've already made sure the heat is ready to come back on while we sleep. Snow showers in the forecast for the first day of spring break. Blargh. So far the spring break forecast does not look very appealing, but we will make the best of it and thankfully Daddy is (at least so far) planning to be in town and might even take a few days off to hang out with us.
Even though we missed everyone already, seeing you just made us miss you all that much more. Can't wait until the next time. Y'all come see summer in Michigan. :)
