The Cake's On Sarah--Technical Difficulties

***Due to circumstances beyond our control, we can't provide pictures of today's fun, but you'll have to take our word for it that Sarah had a great 1st birthday. Here is the post we have been working on with a few videos of her crab crawl. Hopefully we'll be able to locate the camera and the pictures tomorrow, otherwise, we will do our best to recreate some of the moments. Until then, just know that she did have a great day and we're trying to focus on that rather than how sad we are that we might not have the pictures to remind us. This birthday post has been a hard one for me to work on as I have felt a little sad thinking about our baby turning one.***

Happy 1st Birthday, Sarah!

This first year of your life has been quite full and very memorable! From the moment we met you, we couldn't remember life without you. You have completed our family and filled our hearts more than we ever anticipated. We have enjoyed watching you grow and change and admire the way you sit back and take it all in. You've got the most beautiful smile and you're quite willing to share it with everyone. We love the way that you bounce up and down and you squeal with excitement any time you see one of us. You bring out the best in each of us and we are so thankful for you. You are crawling now and suddenly realizing just how much more there is to explore. We love the way your face lights up when you crawl around a corner and peek at us as if you've just discovered treasure. We love finding surprises you have left for us in our shoes. You have been paying attention to your big brother and sister and you know exactly what to do to get Daddy to include you in the "welcome home, Daddy" party at the end of each day. His arms are full and he loves every minute of it. You love that you are participating in meal times and are quickly becoming more and more aware that you and your brother and sister aren't always served the same things. I've given up trying to stop them when they share their treats with you because it warms my heart to see how much they treasure you and want you to have what they have. They always want to know where you are and what you are doing. They are smitten with you. You love to talk to us, and yes, we really are listening. It is amazing to hear your sweet voice interjecting into the conversation. You really have so much to say and we love that you choose us to share your sweet words with. You love to wave "bye bye", shake your head "no" and clap your hands in sequence just to show off. This year you have more than just tolerated all that comes with being the youngest of three, you have delighted in it. We love you so much and are so thrilled to be celebrating this day with you. Happy Birthday, Sweet Sarah! Where did this first year go?
