The Cliffs (AKA The Danger Zone)

We left Dingle and headed north to spend three days in a fantastic apartment with lots of room, a kitchen and even washer/dryer (although it was a combo machine and so slow and confusing that we would have had to spend the entire three days there doing laundry to make much of a difference).

The first day there we had another rainy and cool day so we opted for indoor activities.

We went swimming at an indoor pool...here they are

watching others swim after we finished (we were too busy

swimming to get any pictures inside). Suffice

it to say, a fun time was had by all.

We visited an aquarium. It was on the smaller side,

but we had never been to an aquarium with open

tanks of stingrays and sharks. They certainly

aren't as trusting of US aquarium patrons. We were

happy to leave with 6 children intact.

Before we went in to the swimming pool and

aquarium, there was a sandy beach with surfers

in front of those rocks. (We thought they were

crazy, as it was freezing and raining). Here is

what the beach looked like just a few hours later.

We let the kids watch the waves and kept them

all from blowing off the wall and onto the rocks.

After all of that excitement, we called it a day.

The following day was beautiful and we drove out

to take a look at the Cliffs of Moher. Amazing!

Here is the view of the braver tourists from the

walled side we visited. We had seen lots of pictures

of brave (?) tourists poised over the edge of these

very cliffs and at least the moms on the trip had

nightmarish visions of children running ahead...

We were happy to see that a wall is being built

along the trails, but it isn't finished yet. (Not for

certain it will be finished).

This was our view. Less exciting, but so worth it.

My stomach still does flip flops just looking at

the pictures people walking on the other side.

This was as extremely dangerous as we got.

When we looked at the people walking on the other

side, Hannah determined that only "tiny people"

could walk on that side. She had a point. They did

look extremely tiny from our point of view.
