Familypallooza

August was our month of visitors.  Loved it.  Felt overwhelmed and exhausted by it, but miss it now that they are all gone.
We did our best to soak up every minute. (Papa does a great Dora imitation--probably the reason Sarah asked me a few months ago, "Mom, does Papa speak English or Spanish?"  "He said 'Adios' at the bowling".
Stayed out late some.
Laughed a lot.
Watched the Fords go by--and went by in a few of them.

Rode carousels and waved.
We wore out our first guests...

On to the next...cousins always like a trip to the zoo.  Even a zoo without elephants and sometimes disappointing polar bears.
Showed them the never disappointing frozen wall.
Don't worry, he didn't get stuck.
The zoo wouldn't let us leave them in there either.
Too bad we didn't try this costume on before we left...he might have gotten to stay.
Of course I'm kidding.  The zoo can't handle such a wild one as this.
Their sleeping quarters.
We served them lunch.
Showed them old cars and trains.
Oh and we also got them wet...
They showed us how to dance.  (There are videos of the taller people dancing, but I'll be kind).
A fun time was had by all.  Then time to go home.  Tears shed.
On to the next...celebrating a recently turned 9 year old.
Someone turned 34.
Only our 2nd ever visit to Daddy's office...it took Aunt Daphne's visit to get us there the first time.
Another visit to the zoo.
We did less exciting things...like yardwork...
Trained our new lawn boy...
And then we celebrated our lawn...just kidding.  We just ate out a lot.
Nathan got a little crazy.
We also had more dessert than I'd like to think about and posed like Aunt Debbie.
We celebrated Labor Day with the traditional trip to the park to fly kites...okay, not really traditional, but it was more kite flying weather than pool and bbq weather.
We decided Alex's family could provide our dining for the day...and we did end up having bbq that night after all.

The end of a visit, the end of summer and more tears, but such great memories and such an awesome family.  Love y'all!
